The only thing still left standing was the gate and part of that wall. Everything has gone, only some of the ancient windows, doors and artefacts have been put to one side. The whole place is a building site now. They told us the foundation woods were fitted away and they had no choice. But only the main temple is being rebuilt using the traditional stones and wooden beams. All the rest of the outhouses have been built from bricks, cement and it looks from outside like a big modern house!
To be called renovation or reconstruction the original building must be reproduced exactly, using the authentic materials and building methods! This is a crime! In other developed countries these ancient buildings would have protected status and this cheap “renovation” would not be permitted! Please protect these old wonders….if any are still left!!!!
