“If you want to learn the art of loving a pile of rock, talking to boulders, and enjoy nothingness; come to the Himalayas”
Rohtang in winters is bliss. If it was humanely possible, I would have lived there during winters.
I have made it a habit to cross this pass in the winters. So far I have done this twice and I wish to continue this trend forever. While last year I stayed in Keylong just for few hours, this year I got a chance to live in Lahaul winters for a couple of days. You can read the blog post here. Here I will share pictures of Rohtang and Lahaul winters with you.
Hope you will like them.
Early morning start towards Keylong.
Navigating snowballs near Rahni Nallah. These two men in the frame are primary school teachers in Keylong.
This man acted smart and lost his way. He had to climb on a stretch of soft ice on a steep slope
Rahni Nallah is a nuisance in summers, so you can imagine what it would be like in April
Brave Women from Zanskar
Rawaling Village, Pattan Valley. That’s Dr. Yongde working in the fields, my wonderful host.
Rahni Nallah dissected within 48 Hours. Kudos BRO and our laborer brother ‘n’ sisters.
Have a last look at these dhabas at Marhi. These will be demolished or rather they have been demolished by now.
